ACLU gaff
On its web site, the ACLU claims the "freedom of speech is the first freedom mentioned in the First Amendment." However, the first freedom mentioned in the First Amendment is freedom of religion:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
The ACLU's use of ellipses is disingenuous.
(Thanks to my friend Richard for pointing this out)
