More scientism nonsense
On Panda's Thumb, Louis wrote:
A) Reason is not synonymous with the scientific method
B) The scientific method most certainly is not the only way of examining our universe. For example, group theory (a subdiscipline of abstract algebra) was formulated without regard to any physical applications and without making recourse to the scientific method, but it just so happens that it has been extremely important in studying particles and has predicted many particles that were discovered at a later date.
Louis' asinine comment leads me to believe he does not know as much about science as he thinks.

The fact of the matter is that whilst I would strongly assert that reason (and thus the scientific) method is the only reliable lens we have to examine the universe through (and I could back this up too!), not everyone thinks this way. Sadly they are wrong. Not because they disagree with me, but because the evidence is against them.
